Allwood gathers with friends focused on fighting homelessness

A Night Out With Friends

It is always so wonderful to gather with like-minded people. Especially when the purpose is to share our excitement and appreciation for an organization like Portland Homeless Family Solutions (PHFS). Last night the Allwood team joined other folks from around the area who have in some way donated their time or resources to the construction of a brand new PHFS Lents Campus, and we had a great time. The passion and enthusiasm for helping local families in need is both humbling and an honor to be a part of.

Lents Campus Close To Complete

This month PHFS closed its Goose Hollow Family Shelter and has moved to a brand new facility, made possible through the contributions and donations of countless local organizations and businesses. Once complete, the new Lents Campus will allow PHFS to increase its capacity from housing just 8 families per night to 26. That’s twenty 26 mothers and/or fathers who won’t need to worry where their children are going to sleep.

It’s never a good thing for anyone to be without a safe, warm and dry place to live. On any given night in the United States, over half a million people experience homelessness.
