Where a river meets the sea.
Where a river meets the sea.
Where river town intersects Victoriana. On the northwest edge of Oregon, at a spot where the Columbia River meets the sea, lies Astoria. A place seemingly plucked from the pages of a storybook. Up from its scenic river walks, high above the thriving brewpub culture, quaint Victorian-era houses cling to the hillsides overlooking the town; and the ocean in the distance. We have captured this feeling of refined history and river-side sun-bleached driftwood, in a warm, light-grey engineered European Oak. And fittingly named it after the place that inspired it.
At Allwood, we embrace the beauty and variation created by nature. Every plank is unique, which is one of the things we love about what we do. However, while every sample is created directly from production, and and every photo is color corrected as closely as we can, it is not possible to display all variations in color and character you may find in your floor. That’s why it important to approve the actual flooring before final installation, not just a small sample.

The environment is one of the core factors in all our decisions; all the way down to how we sample our products and the types of packaging we use. We do not—and never will—sell vinyl or plastic floors, and we minimize waste in all our business practices.
As a part of ongoing efforts to demonstrate our commitment to those values, we have conducted a full Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for our entire catalog of hardwood and bamboo flooring products. They are extensive studies, which include results for all materials and processes that go into making an Allwood floor ready to install into the home. The underlying LCA and the EPD were developed in compliance with ISO 14025:2006 and ISO 21930:2017 and have been verified under the UL Environment EPD program.
Together they reflect our desire to know every aspect of the products we make and to have complete transparency of their impact on the environment.
