Centerfield Studio
Donnie Schmidt, Principle of Centerfield, is a native Portlander currently residing in Lake Oswego. He founded Centerfield to pursue his passion for designing and connecting people through meaningful and accessible architecture.
His work has garnered numerous design awards including 35 AIA awards, 4 National Housing awards, a Rada Grand Award, Architectural Record’s “Record Houses”, and Interior Design Magazine’s “Best Projects of the Year”. Prior to founding Centerfield, Donnie worked as the Director at the internationally-acclaimed Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects and as Studio Lead for Skylab Architecture. During his tenure at Skylab, he oversaw the design and execution of the award-winning Knot Springs Social Club and Timberline’s Wy’East Cafe and Y’Bar.
Donnie is a graduate of Arizona State University. Prior to his career in architecture, he played professional baseball for the Colorado Rockies and the Seattle Mariners.
